Following a three-and-a-half-year stint at the University of Maryland, Kari De Hof returned to American University to serve as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance in October, 2024. De Hof previously served as American’s Assistant Director for Compliance from 2019-2021.

De Hof rounds out her first year running the Athletics NCAA Compliance Office. Successfully navigating the decennial NCAA APP audit, restructuring the NCAA Certification of Eligibility Team, implementing a comprehensive rules education system for coaches, students, staff and campus partners, as well as, serving on the Name, Imagine and Likeness working group and serving as the liaison for the Offices of Housing and Resident Life, Financial Aid and Enrollment Management.

She serves as the Field Hockey and Women’s Lacrosse Sport Supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the teams.  Additionally, De Hof serves as a secondary role for the athletic department Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Her day-day compliance role requires monitoring and interpretive guidance on all issues related to academics and eligibility.  She is responsible for oversight of the initial and continuing eligibility certification processes, transfer regulations, APR/GSR, and supervises NCAA waivers and petitions. De Hof works closely with the Faculty Athletics Representative on matters related to academic risk and policy and is responsible for risk reporting to identified stakeholders. 
 
While at Maryland, De Hof worked primarily with the field hockey, volleyball, tennis, cross country, and men's and women's track and field teams, handling all compliance activities regarding Big Ten and institutional policies.
 
In her two years at American, De Hof worked directly with the associate athletics director for compliance and internal operations to handle all compliance activities.
 
From the experience gained in each of her prior positions, De Hof has become skilled at building and maintaining relationships across campus in areas such as admissions, financial aid, academics, as well as internally with athletics staff and sport supervisors.

De Hof earned her master's in sport administration from Belmont University, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Division of Student Affairs and Athletics Compliance. She earned her bachelor's in English Language and Literature from Limestone University, later working there as a Compliance Coordinator and coordinator of game day operations and special events. 

At Limestone University, DeHof played for the field hockey team and served on the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as a co-chair.
