Sukaj Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team

WASHINGTON - Volleyball senior Rubena Sukaj has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team, College Sports Information Directors of America officials announced Wednesday.

Sukaj, a senior in the Kogod School of Business, has maintained a 3.57 cumulative GPA in business administration while specializing in accounting. She was also named to the Academic All-District II First Team last year and is a three time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.

Earlier this year, Sukaj became the PL and American University career record holder in both kills and aces. Sukaj has amassed 1,980 career kills and 278 career aces. She is a two-time PL Player of the Year, a two-time AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and a two-time AVCA All-District II First Team member.

To be eligible for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a major contributor to their team.
