Heath Named PL Rookie of the Week for Sixth Time This Season

WASHINGTON - American University volleyball freshman Rebecca Heath was named the Patriot League Baden Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season on Monday, setting a new PL record for most weekly awards won in a single season. Heath had previously tied teammate Rubena Sukaj's mark of five weekly awards set just last season.

Heath helped AU to a 3-0 victory over Navy on Thursday in the team's only match of the week. The freshman scored a match-high 11 kills in the win and finished with a .364 hitting percentage. Heath also tallied five digs and one block assist.

With the win, AU improved to 10-0 in PL play and extended its current winning streak to 13 matches. The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 4, as they travel to Richmond, Va., to face Virginia Commonwealth at 7 p.m.
