Nash Named PL Volleyball Player of the Week

WASHINGTON - American University volleyball senior Christina Nash has been named the Patriot League Baden Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Nash led the Eagles to a perfect 2-0 weekend against Army and Holy Cross as the Eagles gained sole possession of first place in the Patriot League.
On Friday against Army, Nash guided the Eagles' offense to a combined .352 hitting percentage. She dished out 33 assists in the win, scored two kills herself and also chipped in defensively with six digs and two block assists. Against Holy Cross on Saturday, the Nash-led Eagles combined to hit .378. Nash recorded 29 assists against the Crusaders, five kills, a .714 hitting percentage, six digs and two block assists.
For the week, Nash averaged 10.34 assists per set while leading American to a .365 hitting percentage. Nash registered a .545 hitting percentage herself as she recorded seven kills on 11 attempts with just one error. She also averaged 2.00 dps and 0.67 bps in the wins.
The honor is Nash's first weekly award from the conference this season and the fourth of her career.
