Heath Earns Fourth Straight PL Rookie of the Week Honors

WASHINGTON - American University volleyball freshman Rebecca Heath has been named the Patriot League Baden Rookie of the Week for the fourth-consecutive week, conference officials announced Monday. Heath helped the Eagles to a 2-0 week including 3-0 wins over both Lafayette and Lehigh.
On Friday, against Lafayette, Heath recorded a match-high .625 hitting percentage with six kills on eight attempts and just one error. AU recorded a combined hitting percentage of .515 in the match, marking the team's highest single-match hitting percentage in four years. Heath also added four digs in the win. On Saturday Heath tallied eight kills, a .294 hitting percentage and four digs against Lehigh. For the weekend Heath held a .400 hitting percentage and averaged 2.34 kps and 1.34 dps. The award is Heath's fourth in as many weeks from the conference.
Heath and the rest of the AU volleyball team will return to action on Friday, Oct. 10, against Navy at 7 p.m. at home in Bender Arena. The following day, Saturday, Oct. 11, American will take on NJIT at 12 p.m. in Bender in a non-conference matchup.
