Loren McKenzie attacks from the middle.

WASHINGTON– American University plays its final home match of the Patriot League volleyball regular season on Tuesday evening when it hosts Lehigh at 7 p.m. in Bender Arena.

The Eagles are 19-10 and have already clinched the role of host for the PL Tournament to be played on Nov. 17 and 18.

American is 13-1 in the league and can win the outright title with a victory in either of its final two matches – Tuesday at home with Lehigh or Saturday at Army West Point.

• Senior middle Loren McKenzie leads the Patriot League and is 19th nationally with a .395 hitting percentage. She is tied for first in blocks with Lehigh's Emily Poole with 1.20 per set.

• Senior setter Kennedy Etheridge tops the PL with 10.15 assists per set, with junior libero Kristen Largay in second with 4.31 digs per set.

• Senior outside Aleksandra Kazala is second in the league with a 3.52 kills-per-set average after posting double-doubles in both matches last weekend. She now has 11 for the season, matching the team-high total of Etheridge.

• Sophomore Helena Elbaek is 10th overall with a 2.67 kills average, but is fifth (3.04) in league matches.

• Before the match, the Eagles will honor milestone achievements of three of its seniors. Kazala is only the third AU player to combine for 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. Etheridge is the fifth Eagle ever to hit the 3,000-assist plateau, and McKenzie is the ninth Eagle ever with 300 career blocks.

• The Mountain Hawks are in a three-way tie for third in the league standings at 8-6 with Colgate and Loyola Maryland. They are tied with American and Navy for the most wins overall this season with 19. Lehigh is 19-7 after winning its last two straight.

• The top four teams in the league standings advance to the tournament at American on Nov. 17 and 18. The Mountain Hawks host Colgate on Friday evening.

• Sophomore opposite Hannah Wright was the Patriot League Player of the Week after getting 38 kills and nine blocks for the Mountain Hawks in wins over Bucknell and Lafayette. Wright is eighth in the PL in kills per set.

• Sophomore outside Sabrina Lancaster tops the Lehigh offense with a 3.06 kills-per-set average that ranks sixth.

• Junior middles Emily Poole and Lauren Bright are third and fourth in the PL in hitting percentage, each hitting above .300.

• In the earlier meeting between the teams, the Eagles lost the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-19 on Oct. 9, but recovered to win the final three, 25-22, 25-21 and 15-10. Kazala had 21 kills for AU in that match, while junior Julia Pressly and Wright added 15 each.

American plays its final match of the regular season on Saturday when it travels to Army West Point for a 4 p.m. start. The Black Knights are currently in sixth place, only one game behind the three-way tie for third.

The Eagles will host the 2018 Patriot League Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18 at Bender Arena. Navy has clinched the No. 2 seed, but Lehigh, Colgate and Loyola Maryland are each tied for third at 8-6.

The top-seeded Eagles will play at 2 p.m. in a semifinal against the fourth-seed, while Navy will face the third seed at 5 p.m. in the other semifinal. The championship match will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
