WASHINGTON – Aleksandra Kazala had seven of her team-high 11 kills in the final set to lead American University to its 12th straight win in a 25-12, 28-26, 25-18 victory over Holy Cross in a Patriot League volleyball match Saturday at Bender Arena.

The Eagles improved to 20-7 overall and 11-1 in the PL. The victory also clinched a berth in the league tournament for AU, ensuring a top-four finish in the standings.

The Crusaders fell to 4-21 and 1-11 in the PL.

Cheyenne Orsi finished with nine kills and four blocks for AU. Libero Kristen Largay had 13 digs to lead the Eagles, who got 24 assists from Kennedy Etheridge and 15 from Olivia Wassner.

Emmerson Smith led Holy Cross with 10 kills and Sophie VanSeveren had 13 digs.

American travels to Lafayette and Lehigh next weekend. The Eagles return home on Friday, Nov. 10 to face Colgate, with Bucknell coming to Bender Arena for Senior Day on Sunday, Nov. 12.
