@AU_Volleyball Swept by Zhejiang, China Club

WASHINGTON – Aleksandra Kazala finished with eight kills and Kristen Largay had a dozen digs, but American University lost to the Zhejiang, China Volleyball Club, 25-17, 25-19, 25-15 in an exhibition match Tuesday at Bender Arena.

Zhejiang, the runner-up in the Chinese Volleyball League last season, held a 47-26 edge in kills and hit .321 in the match. Li Jing had 18 kills, including 10 in the second set.

Kennedy Etheridge finished with 13 assists, as many Eagle starters played in two sets. Cheyenne Orsi had a team-high three blocks and five kills for AU.

American, 7-6 overall this season, plays host to Loyola Maryland in its Patriot League opener on Friday at 7 p.m.

Tickets to all AU home volleyball matches are available at the Bender Arena Box Office. General admission seats are $8 for adults and $5 for children. AU students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
