WASHINGTON – Senior volleyball player Kelly McCaddin was chosen as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete on Monday, following her performance in three Patriot League wins for the Eagles last week.
McCaddin was one of two AU players to finish with double-digit kills in a 3-1 win at Navy last Wednesday, registering 11 kills and a .588 attack percentage. She also registered 11 kills and four blocks to lead American in a home sweep of Holy Cross on Friday.
On Saturday, McCaddin celebrated Senior Day by finishing with a team-high eight kills and four blocks in a straight-set win over Army, as the Eagles defeated the Black Knights at home for the first time since 2011.
For the week, McCaddin averaged 3.0 kills and 1.0 blocks per set, along with a .520 attack percentage.
The Eagles, who remain undefeated in the Patriot League with a 14-0 record, close out the regular season this weekend with a pair of road matches. American, which needs one more victory to clinch first place in the league standings, will visit Colgate on Friday and second-place Lehigh on Saturday.
