AU Women's Tennis Downed by Syracuse, 7-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - American University's women's tennis team dropped to 1-15 on the season with a 7-0 loss to Syracuse on Saturday.

Syracuse swept the doubles point, winning the No. 1 position 8-4, the No.2 spot 8-1 and the No. 3 spot 8-0.

Julia Colarusso (Downington, Pa./Downington) was beaten at the top-flight in singles competition by an 8-0 margin. Sophomore Tessa Hollyn-Taub (Palo Alto, Calif.) lost a 6-2, 6-0 match to Catherine Zawadzki at the No. 2 spot. The Orange's Ashley Lipton swept the No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches by perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores. Brynne Ward () was defeated at the No. 6 singles position by a 6-1, 6-1 margin.

The Eagles will face Colgate on Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m.
