AU Women's Soccer Places Two on All-Patriot League Teams

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The American University women's soccer team had two student-athletes named to the All-Patriot League Teams, the league announced Tuesday, Nov. 4. Sophomore center back Friederike Engel was named to the first team for the second-straight year, while junior center back Olivia Heditsian was a second-team honoree, also for the second-consecutive season.

The pair helped lead the AU defense to seven shutouts and a 1.15 goals against average. Engel, the reigning PL Rookie of the Year, played and started all 19 games for the Eagles this season. She took 18 shots, including seven on goal. Heditisian also started all 19 games and registered two shots.

The Eagles finished the season with a 5-10-4 overall record, and went 2-2-3 in the conference in head coach Dave Bucciero's inaugural season.
