Kelsey Wiggins Earns Patriot League Women's Soccer Brine Goalkeeper of the Week

WASHINGTON - After posting two shutouts over the weekend and leading American University to another weekend of undefeated action, junior goalkeeper Kelsey Wiggins earned Patriot League Brine Goalkeeper of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Wiggins, having played in and started all six conference games this season, has led American University women's soccer to an unbeaten record of 4-0-2 in league action. She registered two shutouts over the weekend, coming in the 3-0 win over Holy Cross and the 0-0 tie against Army. Against the Black Knights, Wiggins came off her line and made a diving stop on an Army breakaway, earning her third shutout of the season and keeping the score locked at zero.
In Patriot League games, the Lone Tree, Colo., native has a 0.50 goals against average and a 0.824 save percentage, leading the league in both categories.
With 14 points in the Patriot League standings, American University is one-point shy of Bucknell, who sits at the top of the conference. The two teams will go head-to-head this Saturday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m., competing for the regular-season title and home-field advantage for the conference tournament.
