American Defeated by Tigers

WASHINGTON - American University's Maha Elnabawi (Herndon, Va./Oakton) scored her first goal of the season from 20 yards out to bring AU to within a goal (2-1) early in the second half. However, Princeton scored two more goals late and came away with a 4-1 victory. Elnabawi took four shots in the game and came close to scoring on her other three attempts. Simone Konig (Gartringen, Germany/School of Economics in Boblingen) also had four shots on goal. The Eagles were outshot by the Tigers 24-12 for the game, but played Princeton much tougher in the second half. Freshman Alison Doyle (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Catholic) made her second start in the nets and faced 24 shots by the Tigers, coming away with five saves.
