WASHINGTON - The American University Women's Soccer team opened up its spring season on Friday earning a 0-0 draw with Georgetown at Reeves Field.

Goalkeepers Kelsey Wiggins, Lindsey Farthing, and Hannah Radley combined for the shutout in goal.

The backline of Olivia Heditsian, Erin Stebbins, Erin Koch and Linsey Sledge, played fantastic in limiting the Hoyas to a few chances throughout the 90 minutes of play. The Eagles best chance came in the second half as freshman Frederike Engel hit the crossbar from just inside the penalty box.

American will continue the spring portion of its scheudle with games against Virginia Commonwealth and Towson. The match with Towson will take place at home at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 2.
