Krystn Hodge Named 2007 PL Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year

WASHINGTON - Krystn Hodge was named the 2007 Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is one of 15 AU student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich Thursday.

Hodge, a psychology major with a 3.70 cumulative grade-point average, was a member of the 2006 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in her first season of competition. The junior from Rye, N.Y. became a member of the team in 2006 as a walk-on.

Hodge had a breakout season for the Eagles in 2007, ranking second on the team in scoring with 22 points. She tallied nine goals and a team-high four assists. She played in all 19 games during the season for the Eagles, and ranked in the top-five in the Patriot League this season for points (22), points per game (1.29), goals (9), goals per game (0.53), assists (7) and game-winning goals (5). The junior was a key offensive component on an American team that finished the regular season with an undefeated League record of 4-0-3.

Other award winners were Tatiana Bertolo (Business Administration/3.94), Jessica Buquicchio (Communication Studies/3.46), Friederike Engel (Biology/3.80), Lindsey Farthing (Undeclared 3.60), Siobhan Gillan (Business Administration/ 3.83), Olivia Heditsian (Undeclared/3.61), Irene Karistinos (Public Communications/3.74), Erin Koch (Mathematics/Int'l Studies/3.93), Kelly McLaughlin (International Business/3.86), Lindsey Miller (Business Administration/3.54), Mary Riegler (Business Administration/3.94), Annette Scott (International Studies/3.63), Brooke Sheppard (Law and Society 3.75) and Linsey Sledge (Business/3.77).

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
