Engel Selected as ECAC Division I Women’s Soccer All-Star

Friederike Engel of the women’s soccer team has been named an ECAC Division I Women’s Soccer All-Star, the conference announced Wednesday. The junior defender was recognized as a Second Team All-Star selection. She was one of only two Patriot League women’s soccer student-athletes to earn the honor.

Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Colgate in Double Overtime Heartbreaker in Patriot League Finals

Colgate’s Monica Jensen scored a sudden death, game-winning goal in double overtime of the Patriot League Championship Game to give the Raiders a 1-0 victory over American. The heartbreaking loss puts an end to the Eagles' season after coming so close to only their second ever conference title.

Piorun’s Last Minute Goal Gives Women’s Soccer Dramatic 1-0 Win Over Bucknell in Patriot League Semifinals

With under a minute to play in a scoreless match between the American University women’s soccer team and the Bucknell Bison on Friday night, freshman Kristin Piorun made the biggest play of her young collegiate career with the GW goal to send AU to the conference finals.

Women’s Soccer Ready For This Weekend's Patriot League Tournament

After a successful regular season in which the American University women’s soccer team finished with a 5-2 Patriot League record, the Eagles will challenge for the PL Tournament this weekend in Hamilton, N.Y. AU opens up on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Bucknell with the winner moving onto Sunday’s PL Championship.
