@AU_WSoccer Makes Short Trek to Loyola

American travels to Loyola on Wednesday

WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team makes the short trip to Loyola Maryland on Wednesday for a midweek Patriot League contest.

The Eagles have played their best set of games as of late. Despite a pair of 1-0 losses, AU's young roster has gelled showing the future is bright for coach Hering's squad. Against Lehigh, the Eagles held the Mountain Hawks scoreless until the 93rd minute and then in Saturday's contest with Holy Cross, the Eagles had multiple chances at goal.

Against the Crusaders, Audrey Denkler sent a shot that rang off the crossbar in the 60th minute. American finished the game with 14 shots.

In goal, Ryleigh Brown continues to play well with a 1.65 goals against average.

Loyola is also looking for its first Patriot League win of the season but sit a point ahead of the Eagles with a tie over Holy Cross.

Julianna Cabrera leads the Greyhounds with seven points. She is tied with Mary Corcoran with two goals each. Sumer Rahe has played in all 14 games in goal, with a 1.94 goals against average.

American will stay on the road this weekend for a meeting with Lafayette on Sunday.
