Morgan Brinson leads the Eagles into VCU

WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team heads to VCU on Sunday afternoon following a 2-1 win against VMI on Thursday at Reeves Field.

Toni Williams and Charly Slavick both scored in the first half en route to AU's first win of the season at home.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the 22nd minute on Williams' first collegiate goal. Yari Bradfield sent a cross near the corner flag into the box that was received by Kyanna Alleyne. A scramble ensued which allowed Williams to tap the ball past Keydets' keeper Ceci Keppler.
