Boston, Mass. – The American University women's soccer team was back in action on Sunday afternoon and faced off against one of the top teams in the Patriot League, Boston University. The Terriers showed their strength against the Eagles with 3-0 win.
The Eagles faced an offensive barrage with 14 of BU's 18 attempts going on goal. Senior goalkeeper Charlene Belanger was impressive for AU, making 11 saves in between the posts, but could not keep the Terriers off the scoreboard.
American kept Boston scoreless through the first 24 minutes, but BU broke through in the 25th to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
The Terriers struck again eight minutes out of the half and netted their third goal in the 80th minute.
The Boston defense outdid their offensive performance, limiting the Eagles to only two total shots.
American wraps up the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m., when the Eagles host Colgate on senior day.
