Women’s Soccer Visits Loyola (Md.) Wednesday

Coming off an unbeaten weekend, the American University women's soccer team will continue its non-conference slate with a midweek matchup at Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday, September 21 at 5 p.m.

American (3-5-1) earned a win and a draw last weekend against Delaware State and Mount St. Mary's, respectively. The AU defense held its opposition to only one combined goal in the two matches. As a result, Kimberly Kroll was selected as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and Klare Lazor earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Loyola (1-7-0) has dropped its last two matches against Wake Forest and Virginia Tech following its lone win of the season against St. Louis on September 4. Four of the Greyhounds' eight non-conference matches so far this season have come against ranked opponents. For the season, Loyola has been outscored by a 28-6 margin.

The Greyhounds lead the all-time series against American with a 4-2-2 record. Loyola has won the last three matchups, including most recently a 2-0 victory in 2009.
