Women's Lacrosse Announces 2008 Schedule

WASHINGTON - American University women's lacrosse Head Coach Katie Woods announced the 2008 schedule Tuesday, which includes a strong non-conference slate and a first-ever meeting with new Patriot League member Navy.

The Eagles open their season on Feb. 16, 2008, at Ohio State. Other non-conference matchups include traditional powers ODU, Towson and Richmond.

Meanwhile, the Eagles will again challenge for the Patriot League title, opening league play at Bucknell on March 8, 2008. Perhaps the most anticipated league tilt is against first-year PL member Navy on April 1, 2008. Navy this year will be playing its first year as an NCAA Division I team after playing for years as a club team.

"I'm excited about our 2008 schedule," Woods said. "We've added some highly competitive non-conference games which will help prepare us for the Patriot League schedule."
