Assistant Coach Katie Leland begins her second season with the American University women's lacrosse team after kicking off her collegiate coaching career in the 2006 season. Leland comes to AU from the University of New Hampshire as a three-time America East All-Conference first team member, a two-time All-American North Region first team member and a two-time IWLCA Academic All-American. Leland also set multiple career records for the Wildcats, earning 270 career points and scoring 179 career goals. She set the record for points in a season (90) and goals in a game (nine). As a senior, Leland was named captain of the UNH women's lacrosse team. Leland has coached lacrosse throughout the region as a camp instructor at the University of New Hampshire, Princeton University, the Salve Regina Lacrosse Camp and at the Player's Choice Lacrosse Camp. While at UNH, Leland studied Kinesiology and served as a student-athlete tutor.
