Full Schedule

WASHINGTON - Twelve home games, including four in the month of February, highlight the 2018 American University women's lacrosse schedule, released by Head Coach Emma Wallace on Tuesday.

"I am looking forward to our schedule this year," Wallace, now in her sixth year at the helm of the AU squad, said. "We are playing some new teams out of our conference schedule that will serve as a good buildup to the Patriot League competition."

The season will open with a four-game home series in February, starting with a noon draw against Richmond on Feb. 17. AU will make its road debut on March 3 at UMBC before returning home for yet another four-game stretch starting on March 6 against Old Dominion.

The Eagles will host Bucknell on March 18 for its Patriot League opener before departing for its first set of back-to-back road trips against Army West Point (March 24) and Loyola (Md.) (March 28).

April will feature the lightest home schedule for AU, as the team hosts only three games against Boston University (April 7), Navy (April 18) and Lehigh (April 28).

The Patriot League tournament will open on May 1 with the first round and will continue through the championship game on May 6.

SEASON OUTLOOK

AU brings a lot of youth to its roster this season with seven freshmen and eight sophomores. Included among the sophomore class are two of the top three returning scorers from last year with Erica Skowron and Amanda Medjid.

The Eagles also return one of the top midfielders from last season with junior Sam Breeze. Breeze ranked second on the team with her 28 ground balls and third after causing 12 turnovers. She is one of seven players returning in the junior class.

Leading the way for the squad are three seniors - Leah Brennan, Jennifer DeSimone, and Lexi Perez. DeSimone was the leading scorer for the Eagles last season, eighth in the Patriot League, tabbing 39 goals and three assists for a total of 42 points. She closed the season with a .513 shooting percentage.
