WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team welcomes Nicole Grote as the program's new assistant coach, head coach Emma Wallace announced on Monday.
"I am thrilled to welcome Nicole into our American University women's lacrosse family," Wallace said. "She will add tremendous value in developing and mentoring our young women. She has excellent leadership, and playing and coaching experience, which will all be great assets to our student-athletes."
"I am very excited to work with Emma and assist her with taking the program to the next level," Grote said. "This is a great opportunity to coach and recruit players at an excellent academic university with a beautiful campus in a great location and with strong support from our administration."
Grote comes to AU after a year at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., where she served as an assistant coach with the women's lacrosse program. She has also been involved as the director of the University of New Hampshire Lacrosse Middle School Camp since 2013 and spent this past spring coaching at Larchmont Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse.
Grote is a graduate of University of New Hampshire where she earned her B.S. in kinesiology and sports studies in 2016. A four-year starter for the Wildcats, she was selected to the America East All-Conference Second Team and the American East All-Tournament Team in 2016.
