WASHINGTON, D.C. – Andi Raymond has been hired as the assistant coach for lacrosse at American University, head coach Emma Wallace announced Friday.
Raymond comes to AU after working for 3d Lacrosse, which operated clinics, select teams and camps for women's youth club players in the Connecticut area.
"I am very excited to announce Andi Raymond as our new assistant coach," said Wallace. "Her high-caliber collegiate career and on-field leadership experience during that time, combined with her experience at 3d, make her a great addition to our program. I look forward to what she will bring to the American Lacrosse family."
Raymond played her collegiate lacrosse at nearby Towson University, where she was a two-time team captain. She was the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Year in 2014, was a three-time all-region selection by the IWLCA and was on the Tewaaraton Trophy watch list as a senior.
"I want to thank Coach Wallace and the American University Athletic Department for giving me the opportunity to be associated with such an amazing institution," said Raymond. "I'm looking forward to an exciting year and being a part of the AU family."
She was a mass communication major while at Towson.
