WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team is back at home on Saturday, March 28, when it hosts Patriot League foe Bucknell in a 1 p.m. contest.
Both American and Bucknell will seek their first Patriot League victory of the season. The Eagles enter the weekend with a 2-8 overall mark and 0-3 in league play, while the Bison hold a 2-9 overall record and 0-4 mark in PL action.
American, which has dropped three straight contests, is coming off a 7-6 non-conference loss to Old Dominion. Juniors Olivia Mangan and Jessica Wojciechowski each tallied two goals to lead the Eagles' offense.
For the season, Wojciechowski has tallied a team-leading 25 points, including a team-best 22 goals. Mangan has added eight goals and a team-high 12 assists, while sophomore Madison Hoon has registered 16 goals, three assists and a team-leading 31 draw controls.
Meanwhile, Bucknell is on a six-game losing streak following its 17-4 loss to Lehigh earlier this week.
Maddy Molinari is the leading scorer for the Bison this season with 22 total points, including a team-high 19 goals. Christina Manis has added 10 goals and a team-high 11 assists, while Emily Kookogey has pitched in 13 goals and seven assists.
