NORFOLK, Va. – Despite coming back from a three-goal deficit, the American University lacrosse team dropped a 7-6 non-conference contest to Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Eagles fell to 2-8 overall on the season, while the Monarchs improved to 7-3 on the year.

American got out to a strong start, scoring two goals in the first two minutes of play. However, ODU responded with three straight scores to take the lead with 17:59 remaining in the first half. A goal from senior Jamie Silverman knotted the score at 3-3 heading into the intermission.

The Monarchs put together another run to start the second half, taking a 6-3 lead with 10:51 remaining in the period. The Eagles return home next Saturday, March 28, when they host Patriot League foe Bucknell in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
