Erin Schneidtmiller is entering her third season as an assistant coach for the American University field hockey team.

A first-team all-region forward at the University of Louisville, Schneidtmiller comes to AU after spending a year working with the field hockey team at her high school alma mater, Mercy Academy in Louisville. She also coached the Bluegrass Elite field hockey club.

“We are thrilled to have Erin as a part of our program,” said head coach Steve Jennings. “Her experiences as a player and her coaching philosophy and perspective make her a perfect fit for us. Erin’s vision, drive and personality immediately impressed everyone in our program and will be a great addition to our team.”

Following her graduation from Louisville in 2014, Schneidtmiller spent three months playing for the Bremer Hockey Club in Bremen, Germany.

A four-year letterwinner with the Cardinals, Schneidtmiller earned first-team All-BIG EAST and All-West Region accolades in her senior campaign. That year, she ranked third on the team with nine goals and 21 points, helping lead Louisville to a 15-5 overall record and a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title.
