CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The No. 22 American University field hockey team swept the Patriot League Corvias Player of the Week awards on Monday after the Eagles went 2-0 over the weekend.

Senior Haley Bowcutt, juniors Maura Jacobs and Annaka Groschinski, and freshman Noor Coenen were all recognized by the League after they helped lead the team to a 4-0 win over Bucknell to open the Eagles' conference schedule on Saturday, followed by a 4-1 win over nonconference foe Drexel on Sunday.

Bowcutt was selected as the PL Offensive Player of the Week after she earned her first career hat trick against the Bison on Saturday, putting away all three goals in the final 20 minutes of the game. The senior forward from Annapolis, Md., currently leads the team with 17 points (seven goals, three assists), tying her previous season's best from 2016.

Jacobs, a junior goalkeeper from New Cumberland, Pa., currently leads the league with four shutouts so far this season, tying her previous best from the 2016 season. Jacobs also ranks second in the PL with a 1.167 goals against average, good for No. 14 in the current NCAA Division I rankings.

Also coming up big this weekend was junior defender Annaka Groschinski, who was selected as the PL Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Eagles hold the Bison to only two shots on Saturday, and Drexel to only six on Sunday. She tallied her first defensive save of the season on Sunday, holding the Dragons at bay after a scramble in front of the net pulled Jacobs off the goal line.

Finally, freshman Noor Coenen earned her second Rookie of the Week nod after putting away three of AU's eight goals over the weekend, including the game-winner against Bucknell. The Netherlands-native currently ranks second on the team with 12 points (five goals, two assists), and has contributed a goal or assist in each of her last three games.

The Eagles will be back on the road on Friday with a 4 p.m. start at Lehigh before returning home on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest against Penn.
