AU Women's Basketball Announces Hire of Erin Lindroth

WASHINGTON - American University head women's basketball coach, Matt Corkery has named Erin Lindroth as an assistant coach for the 2008-09 season. Lindroth will be working primarily with the point guards and ball handling guards.

"Erin has an energetic and enthusiastic personality," Corkery said. "Her ability to connect with our players and potential recruits on a personal level is one of her biggest strengths and her experience as a collegiate point guard also adds to her credibility as a coach. We are very excited to have her on our coaching staff."

Lindroth spent the last four years at Daytona Beach State College as an assistant coach. Her responsibilities included practice and game preparation, academic tutoring and counseling, scouting, recruiting, uniform and travel gear maintenance and travel arrangements.

Prior to her time coaching at Daytona Beach, Lindroth served in a number of roles within the athletic department, including housing coordinator and fitness center specialist.

She was a full scholarship player at Wabash Valley Jr. Community College from 1999-2001 and went on to be a scholarship player and earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in sports management from Martin Methodist College in 2004. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was an Academic All-American.
