AU Women's Basketball Vies for Seventh Straight Win at Army

WASHINGTON - American University's women's basketball team will travel to West Point on Wednesday, for a clash with the Black Knights of Army. Both teams are currently in a four-way tie with Lehigh and Holy Cross for first in the Patriot League with 7-3 records. The Eagles, who are riding a six-game winning streak, haven't lost since falling on Jan. 23 to the Black Knights at Bender Arena, 59-49.

American (13-12, 7-3 PL) is fresh off of a 73-46 win over Colgate Saturday. Three Eagles scored in double-digits in the win. Talicia Jackson tallied all 14 of her points in the first half and added four assists and three steals in the outing. Liz Hayes chipped in 13 points for the second straight game, and Stephanie N'Garsanet scored 12 points to accompany six rebounds, a block and three steals.

Army (16-9, 7-3 PL), on the other hand, just dropped a 50-44 to Lehigh on Saturday. Alex McGuire scored her 1,000th career point on a triple less than five minutes into the game and finished with a team-high 11 points on the day. Stefanie Stone tallied eight points, while Erin Anthony and Margaree King chipped in with six points apiece.

American leads the all-time series, 9-7, and is 4-3 on Army's Christl Arena.
