Eagles Host Colgate, Looking for Sixth Consecutive Win

WASHINGTON - The American University women's basketball team will host Colgate Saturday at Bender Arena at 2 p.m. in pursuit of its sixth straight conference win.

American (12-12, 6-3) is coming off of a 50-46 win at Bucknell to reach the .500 mark for the first time since Dec. 22. Liz Leer has led the Eagles in scoring in each of the last two games, tallying 16 points in the conference win at Lehigh and tying her career high with 18 points at Bucknell.

Colgate (1-23, 0-9) dropped a 56-48 decision to Lafayette9 in its last outing. Sophomore Katie Garman posted her first career double-double with a game-high 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the defeat.

Last time out, American took an 88-58 win at Colgate. Liz Hayes scored a game-high 20 points in the Eagles' most impressive offensive output so far this season. American is 9-4 all-time against Colgate, including taking three of the last five games.
