WASHINGTON - The American University women's basketball team will travel to Hamilton, N.Y., on Saturday to face Colgate at 2 p.m. The Eagles have won three straight and will look to match their season-best winning streak of four games on Saturday. This is the second time AU has faced Colgate this season. The Eagles beat the Radiers 63-43 on Jan 17. Nicole Ryan led all scorers with 17 points.
This marks the 20th meeting in the all-time series between American and Colgate. American leads the series 14-6 with AU winning the past five games.
TThe Eagles improved to 7-2 in the Patriot League with Wednesday's win over Bucknell, 71-63. American is currently tied with Lehigh for first place in the conference.
Senior Pam Stanfield is steadily climbing up the charts in career assists. The Eagles point guard has amassed 350 assists to date, which ranks her third all-time at AU. Stanfield has had two eight assist performances this season and has a personal best of 11 in a game, set on Feb. 21, 2006 against Navy.
