WASHINGTON - The American University women's basketball team will look to extend its winning streak to five games on Wednesday at Bucknell's Sojke Pavilion.

AU has beaten its last four conference opponents, bringing its record to 11-12, 5-3 PL, to climb into a tie for third place in the Patriot League, just a game behind conference leaders Holy Cross and Army. Should the Eagles prevail over the Bison it would match the longest winning streak for the women's side since the 2002-03 campaign and the time ever beating five straight PL opponents.

AU is coming off of a 62-49 win over Lehigh, handing the Mountain Hawks retribution for a 55-37 loss taken at Bender on Jan. 12. A pair of freshmen, Liz Leer and Michelle Kirk, led the Eagles offense, tallying 16 and 11 points, respectively. Leer also added a career-high five blocks in the outing en route to being named PL Baden Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Buckell most recently held off Navy, defeating the Midshipmen 65-50. In her second career start Joyce Novacek recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Lauren Schober led five Bison in double figures with 17 points. The Bison sport a 10-12 overall record and a matching 5-3 PL mark.

Bucknell holds a narrow 10-8 all-time record over American and took a 67-64 overtime decision from the Eagles back on Jan. 16.
