Washington, D.C. - The AU Women's basketball team traveled to Stony Brook Monday and dropped a tough contest to the Seawolves, 80-70, before a crowd of 279.
American (2-7) was up 36-27 at halftime and built a 15-point advantage early in the second half. Stony Brook, however, used an 18-4 run in the second half to pull ahead. The Seawolves' rally was sparked by JessicaBurch who had ten points, five assists and six steals in the second half.
Stony Brook's Sherry Jordan led all scorers with 20 points. The Eagles had five players score in double figures including Erin Brady (So., G, Weatherly, PA/Marian Catholic) (18 points), Danielle Johnson (Jr., G, Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills) (14 points) and Jina Lewis (Sr., F, New Castle, DE/William Penn) (13 points).
