WASHINGTON - Liz Hayes broke the single season record for three pointers and Pam Stanfield scored a season high 15 points, but Bucknell beat the Eagles 70-57 Tuesday night in Bender Arena

The Bison defense hassled AU all night scoring 20 points off of 18 Eagles' turnovers.

Bucknell took control of the game in the second half, shooting 61 percent from the field and extending its lead from nine at halftime to as large as 16 with six minutes left. AU made a small run to get within 11, but the Bison hit their free throws down the stretch to keep the Eagles out of reach. The Bison jumped out to an early 17-7 lead by converting eight of their first 11 shots.

Amanda Brown led the way for Bucknell scoring 22 points. Brown was one of three Bison players to finish in double digits, along with Hope Foster (16) and Kesha Champion (14). Bucknell dominated the paint, outscoring the Eagles 30-12 down low.

Hayes hit three three-pointers, giving her 62 for the season, one more then the previous record of 61 set by Tala Hadavi just last year. She led all Eagles' scorers with 19 points to go along with Stanfield's 15. Nicole Ryan was the only other Eagle to score in double digits with 11.

The Eagles return to action Saturday February 10th when they travel to Hamilton, NY to take on the Colgate Raiders. Tip-Off is at 1 pm.
