Michael Wholey begins his first season with the American University women's basketball team. Wholey comes to American after living in Texas for the previous two years. The past two seasons, he served as Video & Travel Coordinator of the WNBA franchise San Antonio Silver Stars. There he worked closely in all aspects of scouting and team travel. In addition, he was responsible for a number of duties on the operations side. While in Texas, Wholey also served as an assistant coach at the junior college ranks with nationally ranked Odessa College. Wholey earned his bachelor's degree in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College '04 (Boston, MA) and was also member of the men's basketball team. After graduating, Wholey got his start as the Video Coordinator for the Boston University men's basketball team. The Marshfield, Mass., native is the son of Paul and Nancy Wholey. Wholey played for his father at Marshfield High School, who coincidently was a member of the 1972-73 American University team that went to the NIT. Both of Wholey's siblings play college basketball. His brother Bryan is attends Bates College in Lewiston, ME and his sister Katie, Tufts University in Somerville, MA. Wholey is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. He currently resides in Arlington, VA.
