WASHINGTON – After leading the American University women's basketball team to a pair of road victories, senior guard Jen Dumiak was selected as the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as well as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete of the Week.
Dumiak led the Eagles with 20 points in each of the team's two wins last week, a 60-52 victory at Manhattan on Wednesday and a 64-52 win over UMES on Saturday. She averaged 20.0 points, 5.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals in the two games.
Against the Jaspers, Dumiak finished with 20 points, eight assists, five rebounds and a career-high six steals, while shooting 63.6 percent (7-11) from the field.
Dumiak had 20 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists against the Hawks, scoring 12 straight points for the Eagles in the first half to give AU the lead for good.
A native of Carlsbad, Calif., Dumiak now ranks fifth all-time in career assists at AU and needs just seven more points to reach 1,000 for her career.
The Eagles will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 28, for their final non-conference game of the season when they visit Wake Forest in a 2 p.m. contest.
