Women's Basketball Earns Nine Selections on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

The American University women's basketball team placed nine student-athletes on the 2013-14 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, conference officials have announced.

American had three student-athletes earn perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester, junior Jen Dumiak (Mathematics and Economics, 4.00), graduate student Geleisa George (Special Education, 4.00) and senior Sarah Kiely (Elementary Education, 4.00). Three-time Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Alexis Dobbs (Public Health, 3.79) earned her fourth consecutive honor, joining George and Kiely with Academic Honor Roll accolades in each semester of eligibility.

Lehigh led the conference with 12 selections and was followed by American (9), Colgate (8), Loyola (7), Army (6), Holy Cross (6), Boston (5), Bucknell (5), Lafayette (5) and Navy (3).

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's championship sports.
