Dobbs, Dumiak, Zimmerman Honored on All-Patriot League Teams

Three members of the American University women’s basketball team have been named to the All-Patriot League Teams, conference officials announced Tuesday. Alexis Dobbs was recognized on the First Team for the second time in her career and Jen Dumiak and Arron Zimmerman were both honored on the Third Team.

“I’m very pleased with the three that were selected; I nominated those three because I felt like they had the best year of everyone on the team,” said Head Coach Megan Gebbia. “As far as Alexis is concerned I feel like she had an outstanding year on both ends of the floor, setting new career-highs in nearly every category. Her ability to shoot the three and make big shots, she’s been our steady point guard the entire year so I’m just really pleased for her. Arron and Jen, to see their years get better and earn their first All-Patriot League honors, I’m really happy for those two because in the future they are going to be the people that we rely on so for them to get the awards and to be recognized for their accomplishments has been outstanding. Moving forward we hope that these three can help carry us through the tournament.”

Dobbs has led the Eagles in scoring all season and has reached double-figures 11 times on the year. She is averaging a career-best 13.1 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game while adding 1.5 steals per game.
