Video: USA Basketball at American, Part 2 – AU's Ashley Yencho Interviews Sue Bird

From September 30 to October 5, American University's Bender Arena hosted the USA Basketball Women's National Team for a six-day domestic training camp. Connecticut Head Coach Geno Auriemma led the squad, which featured a host of former collegiate All-Americans and current WNBA stars.

One of the many perks of hosting Team USA was the ability for American University's women's basketball team was able to interact with the squad in unprecedented fashion. AU's student-athletes were able to watch its closed-door practices, talk with the players and get a first-hand look at Team USA.

During the week, AU junior guard Ashley Yencho had the opportunity to interview Sue Bird, the former UConn All-American and current member of the WNBA's Seattle Storm. Yencho asked Bird about the importance of college basketball in her life, what it is like to be a role model and her pregame rituals.

This is the second of a five-part video series that will be released about USA Basketball at American. Check back next Thursday, October 22 for the third video.
