Terao Leads Three Wrestlers to Second Day of CKLV

LAS VEGAS  - Josh Terao reached the semifinals at 133 pounds and joined Michael Sprague and Jeric Kasunic as American University wrestlers Friday who advanced to the second day of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

The Eagles scored 30.5 points on the first day, placing 20th of the 46 teams in the tournament.

Terao won all four of his matches, including a 6-3 win over second-seeded Dom Forys of Pitt in the quarters. He will face No. 3-seed Jack Mueller of Virginia in tomorrow's semifinals.

Sprague won his first two matches at 149 pounds, but lost in the round of 16 to Max Thomsen of Northern Iowa, 4-1. He will wrestle Saturday in the consolation round of eight.

At 197, Kasunic went 4-1, winning twice, losing in the round of 16 and winning his first two consolation matches to also reach the consolation round of eight.

Gage Curry went 3-2 in the 125-pound bracket for the Eagles.
