WASHINGTON - The American University men's soccer team took a 4-2 win over Radford in exhibition play on Saturday at Reeves Field. The match marked the final preseason game for the Eagles before they open up their regular season on Friday at 5 p.m. as the D.C. College Cup kicks off at American.
The Eagles got off to a quick start, scoring three goals in the opening half. David Menzie tallied the first goal 10 minutes into the game on a feed from Jack Scott. Jamie Davin scored in the 27th minute off a Menzie corner kick to up the advantage to 2-0. Anthony Moy finished off a pass from Nick Kapus just over three minutes later to give AU a 3-0 lead that would stand until late in the first half.
Radford got its first score of the day at the 40:13 mark when Iyiola Awosika put away an unassisted shot. The Eagles outshot the Highlanders 12-3 in the first half as Matt Makowski played the entire half in net for AU.
American and Radford exchanged a pair of goals in the second half, as Daniel Shannon scored his first goal of the contest for the Eagles and Awosika scored his second of the day on an assist from Camden Brown.

Ryan Leonard and Zach Solomon split time in goal for AU in the second half. AU had a large advantage in shots in the game, taking a 21-7 margin.
