@AU_MSoccer Picked For Seventh in Patriot League

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — American University men's soccer was picked seventh in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

American finished 4-9-5 in 2018 and qualified for the Patriot League Tournament before falling to Colgate, 3-2, in overtime of the quarterfinals.

Senior Fabio Massaro returns after leading the team in goals (7) and points (14). Juniors Brenner Jarrad, Jerry Zouantcha and Oscar McConnell also return to the pitch after combining for 26 points.

In goal, senior John Mino returns after starting in 18 of 21 games during his two years at American. Mino posts a 2.35 goals against average with five wins and two shutouts.

American opens the 2019 season at George Mason on Friday, Aug. 30. First-year head coach Zach Samol will coach his first game at Reeves Field against George Washington on Sept. 2.
