@AU_MSoccer Defends Home Turf in Physical Battle With Crusaders

WASHINGTON — Sophomores Brenner Jarrad and Oscar McConnell led the American University men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon in a grueling battle.

Postgame Notes

  • Brenner Jarrad scored on a beautiful shot that bent into the far top corner to give American a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. 
  • Jarrad now has four goals and is tied for second with classmate Jerry Zouantcha for the team lead. 
  • Oscar McConnell scored his first collegiate goal with help from junior Josiah Bostic in the 52nd minute. 
  • Freshman keeper Lucas Manso made three saves, including two in the second half against Simon Becher and Mason Brummett. 
  • Eight cards were assessed during the contest with a member of each team receiving a red card.
  • Tyler Bell scored for Holy Cross in the 70th minute. 
  • Henry Stutz made four saves for the Crusaders.
