BALTIMORE — The American University men's soccer team dropped a midweek Patriot League contest to Loyola Maryland, 4-1.
American (3-11-1, 2-5-0 PL) trailed early in the contest before Andreas Djurhuus tied the game in the 20th minute on a header off a cross from Vinny Barone.
Loyola broke the tie in the 26th minute after a long ball was sent by keeper Chase Vosvick to Josh Fawole. The Greyhounds answered with two more goals in the second half from Brian Saramago and Sam Brown.
The Greyhounds outshot the Eagles 20-14. John Mino made five saves for AU and Vosvick had six for the visitors.
American will stay on the road for a contest with Lafayette on Saturday.
