American hosts Lehigh on Saturday

WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer team hosts Patriot League foe Lehigh at Reeves Field on Saturday at 2 p.m.

American is coming off a come-from-behind overtime win over Holy Cross on Saturday.

The Eagles battled back with a game-tying goal late in the second half to force overtime before Nicholas Dimitrijevic hit the back of the net in the 97th minute.

He leads the team in goals with five and points with 10. Tim Neumann is second in points with eight and first in assists with four.

Lehigh sits in third place in the Patriot League with 10 points at 3-1-1. The Mountain Hawks picked up a non-league win over Drexel on Tuesday, 3-0. In its last league match, Lehigh won 2-0 over crosstown-rival Lafayette.

Mark Forrest leads the Patriot League with 11 goals and 28 points. Doyle Tuvesson is second in points with 15 and leads the team with nine assists.

At halftime, American University will recognize and welcome back members of the 1997 team that reached the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.

Tickets for all AU home men's soccer matches are available at Reeves Field. General admission seats are $8 for adults and $5 for children. AU students are admitted free with a valid student ID.


TIME TO DRESS LIKE AN EAGLE: AU Athletics Hosts Yard Sale Saturday at 10 a.m.
Those attending Saturday's basketball "Chalk Talk" and open practice, field hockey, and men's soccer games or the myriad of All-American Weekend festivities on campus will have the chance to dress like an Eagle at the Athletic Department Yard Sale.

Stop by the Bender Arena lobby tomorrow from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. as the Department of Athletics invites everyone to a sale of AU athletics apparel. This includes game-worn uniforms, warmups, jackets, practice gear and sneakers, as well as some unused apparel.

The sale is CASH ONLY and items will be priced from $5 - $40. Proceeds will benefit the AU Department of Athletics & Recreation.
