PACK UP THE BUS: American is entering its third of four straight road games to open the season. The last time AU played this many road games to start a season was in 2005-06 when former head coach Jeff Jones played the first five games away before the home opener on Dec. 5 against George Washington. Before that, Garry Williams played the six of the first seven away from Fort Myer Hall.

I WOULD WALK  14,718 MILES: Since American's last game at Bender Arena on Feb. 19, 2017, against Holy Cross, the Eagles will have traveled 14,718 miles before returning to its home base to compete on Cassell Court on Nov. 25 against VMI. The Eagles finished last season with three straight road games at Navy, Loyola Maryland and Army West Point collecting 717.4 road miles. Over the summer, the Eagles traveled to Cains and Sydney, Australia via Dallas and Los Angeles. The combined miles of the trip was 9,756 miles. This season, the Eagles four-game road trip to Kansas State, West Virginia, Wagner and New Hampshire will put the team at 4,245 miles.

MOTUZIS TO THE RESCUE: Larry Motuzis leads the Eagles in scoring this season, averaging 16.0 points per game. Motuzis has scored in double figures twice this season, with 17 points at Kansas State and 15 at West Virginia. He also leads the team in minutes played at 34.0 per game. Motuzis is shooting 57 percent from the field with a 43 percent mark from the outside. Motuzis is the only active player on the roster to have eclipsed 1,000 career points before coming to American. At Saint Xavier, Motuzis scored 1,012 points in 63 games.

#AUMBB vs. NORTHEAST CONFERENCE: American is 64-55 against the Northeast Conference. This season, American will play three teams in the league — Wagner, Mount St. Mary's and Saint Francis — within a month span. American has played local foe Mount St. Mary's 64 times, holding a 34-30 all-time record. The Eagles have won 11 games against Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis University. Against teams from New York City, the Eagles are 12-9. The only two schools from the NEC yet to face American are Bryant and Sacred Heart.
