Program Record 10 Named to Men's Basketball Academic Honor Roll

The American University men’s basketball team placed a Patriot League best and program record 10 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the conference announced Tuesday.

Seniors Joe Hill (3.76, business administration) and Simon McCormack (3.25, business administration) finished their careers as four-time Academic Honor Roll selections, becoming only the fourth and fifth Eagles in program history to accomplish the feat.

Senior Riley Grafft (3.35, business administration) and junior Mike Bersch (3.80, applied mathematics) both earned their third consecutive Academic Honor Roll distinction while senior Troy Brewer (3.65, business administration) and juniors Jordan Borucki (3.28, business administration) and Daniel Munoz (3.42, business administration) were each recognized for the second time.

American has led the conference in Academic Honor Roll selections each of the last four years. Nine Eagles earned the distinction in 2011, with seven being honored in 2010 and six in 2009. American has produced 60 Academic Honor Roll selections since 2002, a total which also leads the conference.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League’s championship sports.
