Men's Basketball Hosts Buffalo in First Round of CIT

The American University men's basketball team will host Buffalo in the first round of the Postseason Tournament (CIT) on Wednesday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Bender Arena.

"We are excited to be participating in the CIT," said Head Coach Jeff Jones. "Our players have worked extremely hard all season long and it is great for them to be rewarded with this postseason opportunity."

This is American's first-ever bid to the CIT and its third postseason appearance in the last five years.

The Eagles finished the year with a 20-11 overall record, the program's fourth 20-win season in the last five years, and a 10-4 mark in the Patriot League. American lost in the semifinals to eventual Patriot League Champion Lehigh, 85-66.

American is 3-1 all-time against Buffalo and the two teams have not met since the 1973-74 season, when the Eagles walked away with a 85-76 victory.

The Bulls finished this season with a 19-10 overall record and a 12-4 record in the Mid-American conference.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 12 at 3 p.m. and will be available online at and at the Bender Arena box office. All tickets will be general admission and are $16 for adults and $9 for AU faculty-staff and youth. All AU students will be admitted for free with a valid AU ID.
